Hafvilla - lost in the sea

In the north part of Iceland, at the edge of the Arctic Circle, a steaming ocean is dying to survive.

There’s always been prophecies about an unpredictable giant wave surprising the coastal cities of our planet, sweeping away local communities, mercilessly.

Today, science somehow shares the same story: the melting of the land ice caps is leading to a sea level rise!

In this project, I used double-exposure by merging different still mountain ridges together with the ever rolling ocean, to reveal the fast pace of change: mountains that could potentially turn into submarine mountains, oblivious forever just like a sunken ship

The survival synapses know intuitively that change is the only constant in life, and every wild thing is in tune with its surroundings, awake to its fate and in absolute harmony with the planet.

But change is being dramatically fast! And I cannot let wonder how enough is enough enough...
